Inception is Josh Smith’s sixth studio album and first all-instrumental release.  Inception is a diverse, guitar-based album featuring a wide range of styles and backed by an array of talented musicians.  Featuring 11 original compositions by Josh Smith, Inception also includes covers of the old Monk standard, “Bemsha Swing,” and the Ray Charles gem, “Drown in My Own Tears.”

Guest musicians include Gary Novak (drums), Chris Chaney (bass), Travis Carlton (bass), Deron Johnson (keys), Brian Gallagher (horns), Lee Thornburg (horns), Kenneth Crouch (Wurlitzer), Michael Landau (guitar), Felix Pollard (drums) and Al Carty (bass).  The record was mixed by Lior Goldenberg.
